I'm a Bookshop.org Affiliate!

I debated for a long time about doing this, but I finally went ahead and did it! I will be linking the books I review to Bookshop.org for you! Read a review and decide that yes, you want that book? Buy the book with my link, support authors, bookshops, and me all at the same time!

Bookshop.org is an Amazon alternative that "is an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores." They launched at the beginning of this year and already they are an amazing service. They offer books at fair prices and support independent bookstores while they're at it. They are slowly rolling out new features and they just recently launched Bookshop.org UK!

Why am I doing this?

I really think that Bookshop.org is doing some wonderful stuff and I believe in their mission. I try and suggest books through them when it's possible. For a myriad of reasons, I don't love supporting Amazon (at times there's no choice though, I'm not here to shame anyone on their buying habits!) And I also believe it is important to show our support for indie bookstores and small businesses. Bookshop.org does that and has an easy to navigate platform for supporting small bookstores. A lot of bloggers have affiliate links and I've decided to join them with something that I really believe in.

What do I get out of being an affiliate?

When you follow my links and purchase a book from my "storefront" I will get 10% of your total purchase price. It's not much, but every bit helps. Book blogging is a hobby and my "day job" is as a freelance graphic designer. Being able to monetize book blogging, even in a small way, will help enormously with me being able to keep doing what I'm doing. I love reading and giving you all awesome diverse recommendations and I would like to be able to continue doing so.

Will this change my reviews?

Absolutely not! I only get a small kickback after someone has purchased a book. I'm not being paid by anyone other than you, loyal followers who use my link. I will continue reading whatever strikes my fancy and look diverse as well as taking part in book tours that I feel fit with this blog. Sometimes those books will be on Bookshop.org and I will have a link to them in my review, but not all books are on there at the moment in which case I will link to where they're at. To authors whose books are on other platforms, whether or not a book is on Bookshop.org will not play into my decision to read your book or not.

I hope that covers most questions you might have, as well as explain why I chose to be an affiliate with Bookshop.org! Don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions! And that said, here's a handy link to my "storefront" where I've set up a couple of lists of my favorite reads!
