Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle #2) by Maggie Stiefvater
"Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…"
“Reality's what other people dream for you.”
― Maggie Stiefvater, The Dream Thieves
Finally! An LGBTQ+ character appears! Of course, it was my least favorite character so far. But I will say that this book was WAY more interesting than the first. You learn so much about Ronan and his family. And I will say that he’s grown on me a little bit now. This book felt like a detour on the overall arc of the story. I think that it was really cool to learn more about Ronan and his abilities, and you get to see in his head a little more. But if I thought the fantasy plot in the last book was slow, this one was GLACIAL. I’m sure this was a really important detour that needed to be made. I’m just getting really impatient with the overarching plot.
I listened to the audiobook of this one. And as with the first book, it was read by Will Patton who did a fantastic job with the story. He felt believably like all the characters he read for. And there was a really beautiful instrumental piece of music at the end of the audiobook which I enjoyed and felt like it fit the mood of the book.
